2018年イースターの休暇を利用して行ってきたシチリア島。島内の移動にはレンタカーを利用しました。イタリアの公共の交通機関は遅れる事で有名ですから、今回はフェリーなどの予約の時間もあるのでレンタカーを利用。
利用したレンタカー会社はFirefly (car rental)、聞きなれないレンタカー会社ですが、とてもよかったです。問題だったのはカターニア空港からレンタカーオフィスまでのトランスファーバスのバス停の場所がわかりにくかったこと、ヨーロッパを中心に展開している格安レンタカー会社のようなので、ヨーロッパ旅行の際は検討してみてください。
In 2018, I and my family traveled to Catania (Sicily island). We decided to travel around the Sicily island by rent a car because the public transportation in Italy is not reliable. The rent a car company that we rented a car was Firefly (car rental). They were basically nice except for the transfer bus stop at Catania airport was very hard to find. I share the location of the bus stop in this blog post.

大手のホテル予約サイトbooking.comが運営しているレンタカー比較サイトで色々なレンタカー会社からお得なプランを探し出してくれます。
ここでダントツに格安だったのがFirefly (car rental)、聞きなれないレンタカー会社だったのでちょっと不安でしたが、かなり安かったのでここで借りてみることに。
Firefly (car rental)とは
調べてみるとFirefly (car rental)は世界的に展開しているレンタカー会社の最大手の一つHertzが運営している格安レンタカー会社。2013年にヨーロッパに初めのオフィスを開設して運営を開始し、今の所ヨーロッパと北米を中心に100店舗ほど運営している会社。Hertzが運営しているということで安心できますね。

カターニア空港に到着して、まずはFirefly (car rental)でレンタカーを借りなければなりません、空港からレンタカーオフィスまでは結構な距離があるので、Firefly (car rental)が送迎バスを空港から出していると書いてあったので、そのバス停を探すことに。。。
ですが、空港から送迎バスのサインに従って外に出てもそれらしきサインが全く見当たりません。しばらくアウトレット行のバスなどが止まるバス停がある所で待っていたのですが、全く来ないので、そこら中を探し回ってやっと見つけました！
We had waited for around 30 minutes at the area where other transfer buses are stopping but we could find the bus for Firefly (car rental) so I decided to look around the area and I found the bus stop.

赤丸の部分が我々がしばらく待っていた色々なバスが止まる場所。
The circled with a red pen area was the area where we had waited for around 30 minutes. This is the area where all other buses are stopping.
そのバス亭の道路を挟んだ目の前にHertzのレンタカーオフィスがあります。
There is a Hertz rent a car office across the road from the area of bus stops.

そのHertzのレンタカーオフィスのすぐ横にFirefly (car rental)の送迎バスのバス停があります。これはとてもわかりにくいです。Firefly (car rental)のサイトにも書いてないので探すが大変でした。
And Next to the Hertz office, You can find the sign for the Firefly (car rental) bus stop.
Hertzのレンタカーオフィスとの位置関係はこんな感じ。時刻表などはないので、いつ来るかはわかりませんでしたが、30分おきくらいには来ている感じでした。
Here is the location for the Firefly (car rental) bus stop. I did not find the time table but it seems like that every 30 minutes, they are operating the bus.
まとめ
空港からの送迎バスの場所はわかりにくかったですが、Firefly (car rental)で借りた車キレにしてあって、旅行中も何も問題もなくとても快適でした。
ヨーロッパ旅行で車を借りる際は大手のホテル予約サイトbooking.comが運営しているレンタカー比較サイトRentalcars.comが便利でお得です。
The Firefly (car rental) was very nice and giving a good deal for renting a car in Sicily and Europe. Only problem was the location of the transfer bus stop. I recommend the rent a car plan comparing site “Rentalcars.com” which is operated by Booking.com for good deal. I also use this site for good deal and I found the best deal when I traveled in Sicily.
